SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Alfeco is invested in providing quality education through various skills development programmes to promote employment growth, diversity and opportunity, and the provision of basic constitutional needs to different communities and schools.

Our industry sees continuous  changes to equipment, technology and production best practice methods.

Formal training facilitation at Alfeco was established to allow work-related practical exposure, experiential training and continuity of skills in the workplace through internships, learnerships and apprenticeship programmes for unemployed youth.

UPSKILLING THE YOUTH IN METAL INDUSTRY-FOCUSED FACULTIES

Our mandate is to create sustainable jobs in an often-afflicted local economy to propel South Africa forward within the metal sector and make our country, locally, regionally and globally competitive.

Through expansive gap-analyses we found that the unemployed youth require extensive skills development and training particularly in Administration, Electrical Engineering, Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy and Production Technology. As a vital strategic tool to ensure employee engagement, encourage youth participation in graduate programmes and an integrated recruitment approach, we partnered with the University of Johannesburg’s Resolution Circle and MerSETA to fulfil these opportunities.
